Default Economy even worse from a week ago

This is just disgusting now x.x

I know there is the monk rune thread that kinda gets into this, but this thread is for a more general look at it.

My best notice would be how DISGUSTINGLY the price of dye shot up...

No not the price of black, its been 13k or more for a week so its already been F'ed up. But the price of almost EVERY DYE has shot up to at least twice its price.

When i first bought the game a few weeks back, every dye except purple, silver, and black was about 120g, but then again i was making my first character so i still couldnt save too much, even that small amount.

Then about a week or more ago i checked and was amazed that red had jumped bad and blue and green had gotten terrible. at like 300 and 260 or more, Today I checked and blue dye was 700 gold >.<! blue was 600! I had to pay almost every penny I had to buy them. Its just damn insane!

I dont care if it adds realism! FANTASY ISNT REAL! DEAL WITH IT!
And the fact that some items actually RUN OUT OF STOCK is just so hard to understand.... why give the npcs a set amount? thats just terrible anet, shame on you.

In the end, now to get even smallest items.... YOU HAVE TO GRIND! What I'll have to do now is hardcore grind with my W/E or R/MO to just save the small amounts of cash needed for any new character I make.

Materials have soared in price, runes..... self explainatory.

I was planning on buying the 1.5k tamers mask at droknars today, I said to myself "cant be more than like 2.5k with materials and all (fur squares)".

LOW AND BEHOLD A SINGLE FUR SQUARE IS OVER 1k, when i got the game they were about 200 gold... THATS A 500% INCREASE IN PRICE!.

So now my 1.5 mask actually costs me about somewhere just below 8k..... good job anet... really... good job.

Im scared to look at deldrimor ingots for making 15k platemail.

And I noticed, alot of people that are happy about all these price fluctuations are the ones THAT ALREADY HAVE THE CRAP TO SELL FOR PROFIT!
Just like normal lives, the ones who make the money will like the change, thats why rich people like republicans.

But as I said before, this is fantasy, for the love of the unseen gods make a big change about this, you keep forgetting that the new characters will have to work 5 times harder than you ever had to to get to the point you are now in terms of items.

the prices of the traders are a serious problem, but this issue has already been discussed in detail.

here's the link:

Yes ... time and time again since the update that just "made a notice on how traders get their inventory" ...

Funny how after .. is it a month now? no almost a month ... we hear nothing from Arena Net ... my guess is they are too busy "hearing the community" to address the issue.

I understand you. For me, the prices of blue dyes going to the 800's, 900's is no big deal. I can just buy em and not be totally broke...thats because I completed the game and farmed my ass off.

But to people just starting and probably people who don't farm, just wanna play the game, its a huge thing.

But yeh, I try to help out people. I farm riverside and give away superior, major, and minor runes that I find that I can't sell (not Sup Monk or Vigor or Absorb). No, I dont just away the "crap" ones. I give Ele runes, and warriors, and other stuff worth a couple of thousand gold. I also give away upgrades! Fortitudes, Vampiric, Zealous, Enchant etc.

So yeh. Hope economy gets better. I really like this game and I dont want it to be like Diablo II.

I think most of the problem lies with the factors / math used to calculate the traders' buying / selling prices. It's ridiculous when a stupid black dye is 16K but the trader will buy yours for 900 (which I tried out today). I hypothesize that because nobody is buying the black dye from trader, the trader recognizes it as lack of demand and lowers his own buying price. Of course, this system is clearly flawed. (as in, the price will continue to go up slowly since nobody will sell their black dye for 900)

Also, on a related note, minor absorption was 1.7K.... yet trader will buy mine for 120. great

*Sigh* drink you milk and go to bed, cry baby

you relize that your spending fake money right... none of this inflation aftualy affects you in the real world... prices go up, and they go down, if its so expencive wait till its low, thats why you never see me complain about it, i wait for my moment and strike

for the love of Anet no more "problems with econ" threads...

The econ is just fine~ All you have to do is work a little harder, or work a little less. Face it, RL is like that too ^^.

the increased price at traders has a purpose - to get rich people to spend a ton of money on things. sell prices haave dropped so people dont have as much money. in the pve game, you dont ahve to spend any money, i use the yaks bend glaf armor until i ascended, and used a 14-20 dmg sword (can be baught for 500) QUIT COMPLAINING

If I, for one, wanted real life, that's where I'd be I'd rather be playing the game and having fun than "working" for a couple hours to make maybe 5 miserable platinum that buys me a single rune, a handful of materials, or a dozen skills. And don't get me started on crafting materials! Trader was trying to buy them off me for 8 times less than he was selling them for! Ridiculous! So my choices were getting ripped off, or wasting several hours of my life in Lion's Arch spamming "WTS: Fur Squares." Ah, I feel better now.

just so you know, you can make one of those at the cyrstal desert for materials which cost 600 to 1k if you dont fel like looking for the stuff yourself. Thats what i did and i saved a few thousand gp
